#SummerSummerSummerTime
I hope you have kicked off your summer in style with relaxing, sleeping in, reading, and swimming! We had a great two weeks of remediation and retest for our 8th grade scholars. Thank you to all who made those two weeks a success!
This week begins our summer experience for rising 8th graders! Scholars will be participating in academic and social/emotional learning Monday through Thursday from 9:00- 2:00 pm. We are excited to make this a meanigful learning experience for scholars who were picked to particpate!
GMAS results are beginning to come in- unofficially. If you would like information regarding your child's GMAS scores, please email me. We will send out official reports in July. If your child did not pass GMAS, and they are a rising 9th grader, we will have a plan in place for remediation and support as they move to BCHS. Stay tuned for more information on that.

#ReadersAreLeaders (The 5)
What is your summer read? I have so many books on my summer reading list! One of my very favorite things to do is to relax and read a great book. This summer, I want to read at least 10 books! I am looking for a mix of middle school novels and professional books. I am thinking of trying these middle school novels out this summer:
- Fan Girl by Rainbow Rowell
- A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
- Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
- A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron
- Deenie by Judy Blume
If you can read 5 books this summer and add your review to this flipgrid, you will win a $5.00 McDonald's Gift Card to start the year! #ReadersAreLeaders

The office staff is on Summer Break!
If you have an emergency, please contact me via email or text/call at 912-255-0630
I will be in the building most days.
Also, we are working on restructuing our Honors classes. Next year, we will not be offering Honors Physical Science in 8th grade. We will be using a rubric to determine if a scholar's profile will qualify them for Honors classes. If you have any questions regarding this, please give us a call. The rubric will include GMAS scores, Lexile Level, MAP scores, current classroom performance, and teacher recomendations. Scholars will need to hit at least five of the six markers. We will be working on these schedules throughout June and should be able to answer scheduling questions beginning July 16th.
Our gym locker rooms are going through a transformation! I can't wait to see the finished product! They are hustling to have the project done in the next few weeks.
Thank you for being proactive and for supporting our school and our passion work! I am proud to be your principal and would love to hear from you! Please know that if you have a concern or if you hear something that doesn't feel right, contact me! eraeburn@bryan.k12.ga.us or 912-626-5050 or 912.255.0630 (Cell).
