Welcome Back Wildcats!
People, Programs & Promise
Welcome Back
Good People,
I hope you are enjoying your summer. As I write this, our building is still in disarray, but I have faith all projects will be completed before your official return August 25. Our district maintenance staff and building custodians have been very busy this summer, reviving areas of our building for use by our elective and exploratory programs, as well as reshaping other areas for new and exciting offerings. They are to be commended for the work they are doing. The building looks great, and we appreciate their work.
Though there will be changes-o-plenty, I believe the changes will enrich an already high functioning system. The collaborative culture here at LaCreole in not something that many schools experience. We all have a high degree of commitment to students and staff alike, creating a family atmosphere. The work we have done to improve student learning will persist, and we will continue to strive for improvement. Changes we have made will serve to bolster the experience for our students and families. I believe what we do at LaCreole is important, and am proud to be a part of it. We may expect bumps in the road, but when things don't work quite right, we will roll up our sleeves and problem-solve together for the best solution
Much To Look Forward To
I am looking forward to our school year! Though there is a lot of work to do to ensure our success, I believe we have done the right work this past year to allow us to shine. Beginning last spring up through this last week, we have been hiring great teachers to join our “pride” here at LaCreole. So without further ado, here they are -- I can’t wait for us all to be together to start our year off right!

Inservice Week Planning
Monday, August 26, beginning at 8 a.m. we will have a brief welcome-back staff meeting in the library, at which time I will provide you an overview of the week. Light refreshments will be provided.
Minds On!
Tuesday morning will be our first staff professional development session for the year. Though it would be easy getting bogged down on logistics pertaining to teacher evaluation, Smarter Balance, and Common Core, these will be topics we will eventually tackle soon enough. Instead, our time will be spent talking about student engagement and what that means as we move forward toward a mindframe of student engagement and learning going hand in hand. In developing our philosophy last year, we kept kids at the forefront of why we need changes, and we will need to ensure we keep this focus. With all that will be new, we have the opportunity and obligation to consider approaching our instruction to meet the current and future needs of our students.
Wildcat Fiesta, A LaCreole Tradition
Following our meeting will be our annual Wildcat Fiesta welcome-back potluck! Thanks once again to Roger for heading up this endeavor. It is nice to see old friends and colleagues and sit and enjoy each other’s company. Please contribute as follows:
