From the Principal's Office
Dear Braintree Families,
We had a short but exciting week. It was great to see families on campus for Parent Teacher Conferences. On Thursday, we welcomed Ms. Tina Scheindel, OSSD Technology Director, to teach computer science and robotics to Ms. Robinson's class. It was such a hit that we are planning to provide robotics for more students next week.
On Friday, Mr. Larry Burns, past Braintree teacher, visited campus and helped students in grades 4-6 to put our gardens to rest for the winter. We harvested pumpkins and covered the empty beds with fabric to reduce weed growth.
It has come to my attention that some students are bringing juice in their water bottle. At school, water bottles are only for water. More information about this is included below.
School pictures are on Tuesday, October 19th. Baby Beluga photography will be on campus to capture student portraits and class pictures.
On Wednesday, October 20, we will be making Stone soup using the butternut squash, potatoes, and dry beans we grew on campus (along with other yummy ingredients) as part of our Farm to School Taste Test.
We are excited to host a Family Night on Wednesday, October 27th and hope you will join us.
Make it a great weekend,
Heather Lawler
Principal
Water Bottles = Water Only
Family Event October 27th
Here is what to bring:
- Bring a pumpkin for each child in your group. Some pumpkins have been donated so we have some available for those who cannot bring their own.
- Bring cutting and carving tools. We have some that are child friendly available for use.
- Bring a candle or electric light to illuminate your finished pumpkin so we can light them all and enjoy the spooky glow.
- Flashlights.
This will be a family friendly event with a fire and some cider for all.
Stone Soup Farm to School Taste Test on October 20
