Principal's Corner

Hello RMS Families,

We are excited for Thanksgiving Break, it is an opportunity to spend time with loves ones and often those who we don't normally see. With that, it is extremely important to keep loved ones safe by properly wearing masks at school. Please remind your student that proper mask wearing keeps everyone safe, especially our loved ones. MN COVID numbers are on the rise, and we want to keep our students, staff, families, and extended community safe during this time.

In Collaboration,

Teresa Vibar

Counseling Corner - QUARTER 1 GRADES

Hello Ramsey Families,

Friday, November 12th marked the end of quarter one and as school staff work to finalize grades, we're asking families to let us know how they'd like to review their child's grades. Families can choose to view grades online at home (using Campus Portal), request to have a grades report sent directly to their email, or families can request that a printed grades report be given to their child who will then bring it home to families. Grades will be available after 9:00am on Monday, November 29th. Please let us know your preference by completing this short 3-question form below. Thank You.

Every Meal - Fighting Child Hunger

Ramsey Middle school and Every Meal have formed a partnership to reduce food insecurities in our school community. Attached is a flyer with contact information on how to get signed up. Also, we are in need of a few parent volunteers to put food in lockers on Fridays. Please contact Ryan Donnelly, (651)744-2389 if you are interested in volunteering.

Ramsey Newspaper is an after-school club through Flipside. Enjoy our first edition of the year! If your scholar is interested in joining Ramsey Newspaper, please reach out to Ms. Johnson or Darcy Holle.

Ramsey Newspaper Fall Edition

Classroom Updates

Johnson's Math 6

Students have been using the concept of foods and ingredients to add and subtract fractions and decimals. Next time you're meal planning, grocery shopping, or cooking - talk with your Scholar about finding the totals for your ingredients or shopping lists. In the coming weeks we will be talking about Multiplying Recipes and Salaries for multiplying decimals.

Winter I Sports Starting Monday

Dear Ramsey Families,

We are excited to be able to offer middle school athletics this winter. As was the case this fall, there will be some changes that will allow students to participate in a modified athletics season.

Due to the continued shortage of school bus drivers, we are only able to provide after-school transportation for high school students at this time. This means that all SPPS middle school athletics will continue to have a modified intramural season this winter.

In light of this change, the winter activity fee is being reduced from $30 to $5. Students will need a current sports physical to participate in the winter season; please make an appointment with your physician or visit one of our SPPS Health Start Clinics.

Middle School Winter I Intramural Sports Start Dates:

Girls Basketball | Monday, November 22, 2021

Wrestling | Monday, November 22, 2021

Boys Basketball | Monday, January 24, 2022 - Sign-ups will be out in January
