Staying Positive during a COVID-19 Thanksgiving
“Taking the time to be thankful makes you feel more positive emotions, improves your health and well-being, helps you deal with adversity and builds strong relationships-all crucial traits both in and out of the workplace.”*
The global pandemic has disrupted our lives in numerous ways, big and small. It’s natural and human to focus on current hardships and limitations, and the loss of people and opportunities. Especially in moments of crisis, practicing gratitude is critical to sustain our well-being. There is always something to appreciate, if you look. This Thanksgiving, take some time to reflect and appreciate the parts of your life that bring you joy. *Visit this article for more information.
Career Design’s coaching lab, Staying Positive During your Job Search, offered on November 25th and December 2nd, discusses 6 creative strategies taken from positive psychology that build resiliency. Additionally, you can apply design thinking principles and mindsets to help you find your balance and stay hopeful during challenging situations, whether it be a co-op or job search, a tough academic semester, or missing your loved ones during the holiday.
The Career Design team is grateful for YOU. Helping you chart your path allows us to express a core element of our own ideal careers — the satisfaction of working to empower others. We’re all here for you, and we wish you a healthy, Happy Thanksgiving!
