Congratulations to Amber Lemelle, Addie Lalonde and Madison Collins for placing at the Louisiana State Senior BETA Convention
Addie placed 3rd in Creative Writing Division I Competition. Amber Lemelle and Madison Collins performed a dance routine in the Talent Schoow finals as one of the top 10 competitors and both received a Golden Ticket invitation to participate as premier performers in the opening act at the National Convention to be held this summer in Savannah, Georgia.
CANKTON ELEMENTARY
Students in Ms. Ducote’s third grade class tested out a variety of Cajun musical instruments. They were able to play an accordion, scrub board, and spoons as part of their lesson.

KROTZ SPRINGS ELEMENTARY
In a Fishbowl discussion, students seated inside the “fishbowl” actively participate in a discussion by asking questions and sharing their opinions, while students standing outside listen carefully to the ideas presented. Students take turns in these roles, so that they practice being both contributors and listeners in a group discussion.
Mrs. Williams' 7th grade Science Chicken Wing Dissection lab
The purpose of this lab was to investigate and observe a chicken wing to learn about the parts of a chicken wing, how these parts, like bones, muscles and tendons, work together and how that translates into movement. Students dissected the chicken, moved around parts internally and got a brief glimpse into how dissection actually works.

Our 5th grade students had a fantastic time visiting with all the vendors at Washington Elementary’ s Career Fair.

WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY
Washington Elementary held a CAREER DAY in which 25+ vendors and businesses participated. The event was coordinated by the school's counselor Mr. Charles Johnson. Four other schools in the district were invited and participated as well including, North Central, Northeast, Southwest, Grolee, and Palmetto. Parents were invited and also participated in the event.
