What have Gifted students been up to....
Third Grade placed 10 new GT students and they will begin lessons when we return for Christmas Break!!
Fourth-grade place 3 new GT students. The current students have been learning about the 5 simple machines and building them in Minecraft for Education. We are also competing in the NASEF Competition by working to complete a Rube Goldberg machine using the 5 simple machines in Minecraft. These students continue to read Article-A-Day from Readworks to expand their knowledge in many areas. Some topics have been bird migration, world mountains, visual art, Central America, problem-solving, diseases and disorders
Fifth and Sixth grade has placed 2 new GT students. These students continue to read Article-A-Day from Readworks to expand their knowledge in many areas. Some topics have been traveling across the world, mental and emotional health, helping the environment, rockets and space vehicles, the Earth's resources, early American Presidents, and innovation. They have worked on what motivates them and why, teamwork and characteristics of a good and bad teammate, The Great Penny debate- should we keep the penny in circulation, as well as using creativity to design a Christmas Ornament.
Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth graders have focused on Stress. What causes stress, how it affects them emotionally and physically, and how to manage their stress.
Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth graders have had the opportunity to visit the GT Lunch Booth to get information on signing up for the ACT, ACT prep courses, College applications and Scholarship Applications.
