Character Counts Week October 17 - 21

Next week schools around the country will celebrate National Character Counts Week! We take great pride in having been recognized as a National School of Character and this week allows us to show our pillarific spirit! Please encourage your child to participate in our spirit days by wearing designated pillar colors:

TUESDAY 10/18 - Responsibility and Citizenship - wear green and/or purple

WEDNESDAY 10/19 - Respect and Caring - wear red and/or yellow

THURSDAY 10/20 - Trustworthiness and Fairness - wear blue and/or orange

FRIDAY 10/21 - Pillarific - wear all pillar colors

During the week all classrooms will be selecting a quote for their classroom door to inspire character throughout our hallways. All Skyview students are also invited to submit an entry to our CHARACTER POSTER CONTEST (due Friday 10/21). Designs should focus on the theme, "Character Counts at Skyview." Winning entries will be announced and displayed.

In his blog, "What Will Matter," Michael Josephson (Character Counts founder) offers commentary on topics relating to character. The post, The Power of Kindness, reminds us of the value in being kind to others. It is true, "Every single person can send forth ripples of kindness and compassion simply by being nice."

Thank you all for continuing to support our school community!

Donations still being accepted for Skyview H & S Walk-a-Thon

IT'S NOT TOO LATE! Skyview's Walk-A-Thon is one of our primary fundraisers for the school year and our goal is an average of $25 per student and we are falling short of that. These donations fund the mini-read-a-thon, field trips, assemblies, different activity nights and the end of the year event. We would like to thank you for a fantastic Walk-A-Thon and your continued support. Donations are greatly appreciated through October.
