Welcome Back!
Second Semester- Students' schedules will be slightly different as we start the second semester, which includes a change in assigned specials (Art, PE, Music, CTE). If you have any questions about schedules, feel free to call the school at 614-836-4957 or email john.brown@gocruisers.org. We have had several calls and emails already and we've been happy to help!
MAP Testing - Students will be MAP testing on Wednesday, January 13th (ELA) and Wednesday, January 20th (Math). On those days, teachers will not be assigning any work for students to complete. The sole focus of those days will be on MAP testing and students doing their very best. MAP testing is a tool we use to measure academic growth from the beginning of the year, so it is very important students complete these tests with the very best effort they can give.
Chromebooks - Students are expected to use school issued Chromebooks when logging into classes. This allows teachers to better monitor and communicate during the course of the day. If there are special circumstances that prevent your student from using their Chromebook, please notify teachers through email or call the school directly. If there are problems with your student's issued Chromebook, contact the technology department at tech_dept@gocruisers.org or 614-836-4957.
Attendance - It is imperative that students log in to classes every day at the assigned time. Parents should be receiving calls or texts when their student misses 1-2 classes or an entire day. Teachers are doing all they can to provide engaging instruction and time to complete work during class time with guidance and feedback. Students who continually avoid logging in will eventually accumulate enough absences (hours) that put them in danger of becoming habitually truant. Once this happens, Franklin County Juvenile Court gets involved and begins monitoring student attendance. Families are given notice from the school when students are getting close to reaching these thresholds.
Remote Learning - Remote learning continues until notified otherwise by the district. Any changes will be communicated through calls and emails from the district office. Sufficient notice will be given in advance of any changes back to a hybrid learning model. Thank you for your continued support and patience!
