OVHS Counselor Connection
An extra dose of encouragement for the Class of 2020
To Our Seniors and Families
We also know that this is the time to celebrate all of your successes in high school by recognizing your accomplishments and your future plans. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete the Google Form below which will allow us to showcase each of you on the OVHS Facebook Page. Also In lieu of our traditional Senior Awards Night we have planned something a little different. We will be announcing the Senior Awards and Scholarship Recipients live through the OVHS Facebook Page so watch for further details. Don't worry if you miss it, you can watch the recording.
With the social distancing and lack of structure it might be hard to remain focused on your school work. We know that distant learning is not ideal but remember to focus on your goals. It is important to continue to work hard in your classes during the next few weeks to make sure your grades do not suffer. DO NOT GIVE UP. You are so close.

**** Important Info For AP Students! ****
College Board has announced that all AP exams will be given online, not in person. Additionally, they will be holding review sessions and study materials to help out during this time. Please note that none of this is mandatory but it is all there to help you if you want it. The College Board is still working out the logistics and you can find more information and updates here: https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates. Please contact your AP teacher if you have any more questions!
Dual Credit Courses
Your dual credit teachers will be working closely with you to complete your classes. If you have any questions be sure to reach out to them. If you have further concerns you can contact the individual college (either Ivy Tech or Indiana University) for specific information.
It is very important to follow through on these courses because the classes will be figured into your high school GPA which can impact financial aid, scholarships, etc. and your grade will be part of a college transcript.
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
If you haven't done your FAFSA yet, please get this done at fafsa.gov or on the myStudentAid mobile app.
