This year Thursday, November 19, 2020, has been designated Celebrating Community Heroes Day. Red, Blue and You is a nonprofit organization that has worked over the past five years to honor those on our frontlines who serve us tirelessly. This year we realize that our list of Community Heroes expands far beyond anything anyone would ever imagine and most definitely includes our healthcare workers, first responders, essential workers and most importantly our teachers! We hope you take notice of the efforts put forth to celebrate our fellow community heroes, signs, thank you notes, red, white and blue ribbons will be displayed throughout the community and it will be done in honor of all our community heroes. We hope you will join us in this celebration by wearing red, white and blue, and sharing your thanks with community heroes near you in Gwinnett County.

Happy 96th Birthday to our very own Granny!

Shiloh Elementary celebrated Granny's 96th birthday this past Wednesday! Granny works in our cafeteria, and not only does she provide food for our students, she provides smiles! Our staff has created "Granny's Garden" outside of our café in honor of her. We are so thankful to have Granny here at Shiloh ES!

AKS at Home

As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides Math and Literacy support, for grades K-5, to families so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. Zoom meetings are scheduled for you to attend to quickly learn how you can help your child in Math and Literacy. All meetings are recorded and tools are posted in case you can't make the live session. This support is available for families to access in the format that fits them and their schedule best.

We invite our families to take advantage of AKS at Home to gain access to live virtual meetings or recorded meetings to best fit your schedule, and to the parent tip sheets (in English y en Español). If you have any questions, please contact Vicki Diaz (Shiloh ES Parent Outreach Liaison) @ 770-736-2129
