Dear IC STEM Families,

Today represents why we choose Catholic Schools. It was a true testament to our faith to see so many families stop by this morning to receive ashes and pray together. We were so happy to see you. Let us continue to pray for each other throughout this holy season.

We are cautiously moving forward with our return to school plan. We appreciate your survey input and are committed to providing you with important information as we prepare. Before we return we will host a Zoom Information Night to address any questions.

At this time we are extremely excited that the Shea Foundation will begin remodeling the St. Stephen’s classroom into a STEM Lab for grades 3-5 on February 22. The STEM Network will provide new furniture and we can’t wait to see our young innovators problem solving in the new lab. The project will take a couple of weeks and then we can begin the transition back to the classroom. Distance Learning will continue for any families that prefer to remain learning from home. We thank you for your continued support as we work together to provide a safe learning environment for all of our students.

The Zoom Virtual Application Processing for Immaculate Conception School (M) will take place on March 18, 2021.

Below is a walk-through of how parents can setup their appointments with CEF via our new Online System.

1. Log on to www.cefdn.org
2. At the CEF Home page, on the top menu bar hover over the CONTACT US link and a drop-down menu will appear, SELECT "TAP Appointments"
3. SELECT “CLICK HERE” on the "TAP Appointments" webpage (Make sure to turn off any “Pop-up Blockers”)
4. SELECT “Next” on the Welcome Screen
5. Choose a Location where your students will be attending (ELEMENTARY SCHOOL) and SELECT “Next"
6. Choose a Time to meet with CEF Representatives and SELECT “Next”
7. Enter in you information to reserve your appointment (Make sure to enter your Cell and Email in order to get text and email reminders) and SELECT “Save”
8. Please fill out the Digital Application before your Appointment, DO NOT fill out a paper application if you will be submitting through Zoom. Once you join the Zoom Meeting the CEF representative will provide you with an email address where you will email your completed application.

A reminder for parents attending the virtual application processing via Zoom: Any parents that miss the virtual application process can turn in their applications to the school.

This year, there are no formal rehearsals, students will prepare with their teacher during class.

If your child is in grades 3-8 and is interested in receiving their First Communion, please contact the office and we will be happy to assist you.

Masses are celebrated on Sunday at 8am in English and at 12pm and 5pm in Spanish. Saturday Vigil Mass is celebrated at 5pm. Weekday Masses are at 7:30am.

Since this is a fundraiser, do not order directly online. All orders must go through the school office.

Lent is a time for reflection. Yes we are all busy and dealing with life during a pandemic is stressful, but let’s take this time to challenge ourselves to grow in our faith.

"The Lord is close to all who call on Him.." Psalm 145:18

Hope begins with articulating to God what is actually going on in our lives. By honestly speaking our triumphs, struggles, fears and desires to Him, we remind ourselves that He is always there and always listening. He wants to have a deep and personal relationship with us.

Reflection Questions:

● If I already talk honestly with God on a regular basis, how can I make my conversations more meaningful during this Lenten season?

● If I am struggling to talk honestly with God on a regular basis, what is impeding me? How can I eliminate some of these obstacles?
