Knightly Update January 23, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 25
Welcome to the final full week of January. I hope the first month of 2022 has treated you well. If you have yet to review your child's academic progress this semester, please do via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Mid-quarter grades are two weeks away and will be posted on Friday, February 4th.
As we continue to negotiate the pandemic, please remember to contact the office if your child tests positive for the virus. It is critical that we be made aware so we can contact trace and inform families of exposure so they can take the precautions they deem appropriate for their own child and family members. With the number of rapid home tests being administered and outcomes not provided to the county, it is very important that positive test results be communicated with office personnel. We will work with all students who test positive, so please do not withhold critical information that limits us in maintaining the overall health and safety of our students and staff. Thank you.
1:1 registration meetings will take place again this week. Please remind your child to bring their 2022-23 course selection paperwork with them each day so they are prepared for their meeting when called. If you have any questions about these meetings, please contact your child's counselor.
I hope you have a very nice week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Thanks again for helping us to maintain the safest environment possible. Enjoy the week.
Rob Bickes
Principal

She's The First Supports Girls Education
Hey Knights!! ACP She's The First is partnering with ACP Basketball to support girls' education this year! She's The First (STF) is a world-wide organization that fights gender inequality and gender-based violence through education. STF will be hosting all the basketball games on January 25th against Valley Christian. There will be a table in the gym foyer adjacent to the ticket stand where you can donate via cash or venmo. ALL funds collected at the games will be utilized to provide underserved girls globally with the opportunities they deserve and ensure that girls everywhere are educated, respected, and heard.
This is a huge game so please come out and support both ACP Basketball and She's The first! Thank you! Theme is BLACK OUT. "

State of the City Art Contest
Mayor Hartke has launched Chandler Through Your Eyes, the inaugural State of the City youth art contest. We want to see how our younger generation see Chandler, now and into the future.
Participants can share what Chandler means to them through a painting, drawing, photography or digital formats. All artwork will be displayed at the 2022 State of the City on February 17 at the Center for the Arts. Applicants and families are invited to attend the free event, which will feature a live concert, food and the State of the City address.
An online voting system will allow the public to vote for their favorite pieces. Cash scholarships will be awarded to the winners.
Submissions are due by Feb. 4, 2022. Eligibility and details can be found at chandleraz.gov/ThroughYourEyes.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
