Cardinal Connection

May 2022

Letter from the Principal

Greetings SPHS Scholars, Family, and Friends,

It is hard to believe in four weeks the 2021 – 2022 school year will end. As we near the end, SPHS staff is pushing hard for our scholars to finish the 4th quarter strong. With that being said, we need the support and encouragement from our families to help them get across the finish line successfully. This is especially true as the weather continues to warm up and students are tempted by the warmer days. Attendance has been a key focus this year and we want to continue that expectation.

Here are the following events occurring this month:

  • On Wednesday, May 4th, Sun Prairie High School is hosting Senior Scholarship Night in SPHS PAC from 6 – 8 pm. Senior scholars should arrive at 5:40 pm. Seniors receiving a scholarship at this event were previously notified.

  • On Wednesday, May 11th, the Sun Prairie AVID Class of 2022 is hosting their Senior Celebration at 6:00 pm in the SPHS Performing Arts Center.

  • SPHS Prom is on Saturday, May 14th at the Monona Terrace from 8 – 11 pm. Tickets are $35 for each attendee. Any guest should have a form completed by May 6th if they plan on attending Prom. Answers to any questions or concerns about Prom can be found in the “FAQ about Prom” listed on our school/district website.

  • The last day for Seniors is Wednesday, May 25th at 11:35 am. Seniors are expected to have turned in all school-related materials and completed all necessary coursework before this date.

  • The last day for Sophomores and Juniors is Thursday, May 26th at 11:35 am. Scholars are required to keep their chrome books for the next school year.

  • SPHS Graduation is on Friday, May 27th at the Kohl Center in Madison, WI. The ceremony is from 5 – 7 pm. The door opens at 4 pm for guests and we are requesting for all graduates to be there by 4:45 pm.

  • For families looking for Summer School information here are those details”
