Scarlett from Room 2 (pictured) blew me away when she popped in to show me her retell writing of the 'Three Billy Goats Gruff'. Well done Scarlett. The enthusiasm for learning our little ones have and the pride they take in their successes is something that should be bottled.

A big thank you to Mr Williams for organising our schools involvement in the Franklin Tackle Rugby day last Friday. Thanks also to Brian Wynne and Kurk Brady who took on coaching duties and also Paul Batters for generously donating playing jerseys.

School is really busy at the moment. We are close to being back in full swing. Mr Williams and the senior classes are doing production rehearsals. Marama Killen is running a month of drama sessions for our juniors. The Franklin Bulls are taking in-school basketball skills sessions and we have kids away participating in the Franklin Netball tournament this week.

School cross country gets underway at 1pm next Friday on the Clive Howe Fields. The Years 6's run first and the showcase event, which is the new entrants, is always the last race of the day. If the weather is horrendous we will postpone the junior races to another day, but we still run the seniors as we need qualifier names for the group and zone events. If the programme changes we will send a schoolAPP on the morning of race day.

PADDOCK TO PLATE

A very big thanks to Jo Syme, who kindly donated a variety of baking and serving dishes to the `Paddock to Plate` kitchen, after noticing we were in need of them.

We will enjoy using them and so appreciate all you do at our school!

Calf Club Sponsorship Appreciation Post

Again we have a nice list of sponsors to add to the week's appreciation post - produce for our stalls, money in the bank, goods for our raffles and food for our stalls - It's all hugely welcome! Look out for this post in our local Patumahoe Community Grapevine :-)

The support of our local community and businesses are what make our calf club successful.
