The Carleton Chronicle
A weekly update from Carleton Middle School.
This and That
Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday, March 14th (after a half day dismissal at 11am). Conference times will be from 12:30-3pm and 5-8pm. We will have a "quick look-up" available for you to see the most updated grades and for a list of your child's teachers. Come see us...rumor has it, there will be cookies and coffee available.
We will once again host a Dodgeball Tournament for our students at Carleton. This is fun event where 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can come together for a school-wide activity and get some much needed exercise. Forms are due to the main office by Monday, March 18th.
We are working to plan our 8th grade farewell party in June. If you have ideas, suggestions, or can volunteer some time, please reach out to our Booster Club or attend one of our meetings. We want to make this an exciting day for our 8th grade students.
The pictures in this week's edition feature students that attended a field trip to CPC. Eighth grade students were selected that may have a future in career and technical education. What a great program right around the corner from Carleton.
Lastly, don't forget to "Spring forward" with your clocks on Sunday morning at 2am. We hope to see our students adjust smoothly to losing an hour of sleep.
Band Festival
Our Concert Band students earned straight Division I ratings from four separate judges last week at District XVI MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival hosted at Roseville Middle School. This ensemble earned all A and A+ ratings from an experience judging panel. The Carleton Band will move on to perform with other middle schools at an upcoming State MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival with even higher standards. Congratulations on a job well done!
The Cadet Band was able to participate in a field trip to Wayne State University on Thursday to work with their professors and aspiring music educators. The session was informative and educational for both our students and the college students. A true win-win. Thank you Ms. Lantto for all of your dedication to our students and music education in the state of Michigan.
General Announcements
If you have an incoming 6th grader, we will have 6th Grade Orientation on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30pm.
