GEHS Student Council Serves Those in Need
During the holidays, the multiservice center and the Hope House in Gardner were in need of many items. The GEHS Student Council stepped up and collected goods outside of Price Chopper over a weekend in December. The pictures below only represent what was collected on day one! The total amount collected to serve people in need was twice this amount!
GEHS Student Hosts Holiday Light Display to Raise Money
Will Lewis, senior at Gardner Edgerton High School, has a passion for giving back. Last year, Will and his family created a drive-through holiday light experience open to the public. This year it has been expanded and all proceeds will benefit Ashley Gorney and her family as they battle serious health issues.
Will shared that the display is made up of over 80,000 individual lights and 32 figurines (blow molds and inflatables). The family home, barn and two greenhouses are decorated with holiday cheer!
The display is open now through December 25, 2021. Monday - Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday - Sunday from 6:00 - 10:00 pm.
On Saturday, December 18, Santa Clause and his elves plan to visit and hand out candy canes to visitors.
Way to go, Will! It’s this type of spirit and generosity that makes Gardner and Edgerton great!
Elementary Students Participate in Honor Choir
Select students from Gardner Elementary & Nike Elementary’s choirs participated in East Central Kansas Music Educators Association's Treble Honor Choir on Saturday, December 4th.
Our students sounded amazing and were treated to a wonderful and positive, and musical experience for all involved!
