During this time of increased spread of COVID-19 in our community, we encourage—in the strongest possible terms—all students and staff to wear masks. We must do all we can to ensure that Bush Elementary remains open to educate our Bobcats.

A Message from Dr. Lambert
Good afternoon,
As we finish out the first full week of the 2021-2022 school year, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for trusting us with your children each school day. As I tell them each day on announcements, I love them all!
Because I love each of our students and all of our staff, I encourage each child and staff member to wear a mask each day. I encourage mask wearing because it proved to be one the most effective COVID-19 mitigation strategies we experienced last school year. As we experience the current surge in COVID-19 infections in our community, we must do all we can to keep Bush open for our students. Wearing a mask will help in that endeavor.
I am not happy with the restrictions COVID-19 places on us. I long for a day when we can welcome our volunteers and families back into the building. I am hopeful for a time when we can get back to the normal we knew before COVID. In this time, though, my ultimate responsibility is to do everything within my power to provide for the safety of our students and staff.
Even in these times, though, we continue to cooperate with the Bush Elementary PTO and community partners to support the students and staff at Bush. As our PTO continues to support the school, please consider checking out the Back to School Online Auction (more information is below in the PTO section) to see if you can help support the PTO. Here's a hint for the auction: you can win Principal for the Day for your child.
There are so many great things going on at Bush, and we have amazing partnerships helping to make them happen. If you (or someone you know) would like to partner with Bush to support our students and staff, please reach out. I'd love to talk with you!
Take good care,
Dr. Jarod Lambert
Principal

Reminder: Transportation Changes
Transportation changes must be made in writing before 2:00 PM. We cannot accept transportation changes by phone. To submit a transportation change, you may send a written note to your child's teacher or provide a not to the front office with the following information:
- the date
- your child's full name
- homeroom teacher
- bus number (if applicable)
- your signature
If an emergency arises, you may send an email to bush@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include all of the above information, including a parent signature, and must be received before 2:00 PM. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above. Teachers do not check their email regularly throughout the day, so transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher.
Please send a new note for each day the change occurs; we cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.

Free School Breakfast and Lunch
The first regular school breakfast and lunch is free for every student in Conroe ISD this year. Additional meals can be purchased for $2.60 (breakfast) and $3.85 (lunch).
While meals are free during the school year, it is still very important for those who are eligible for free or reduced lunch to continue to submit the application during the registration or records update process. The number of students eligible for free or reduced lunch (whether they use that service or not) has the potential to affect the state accountability rating and funding for the school.
