His Life
Born Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo on July 22, 1932 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At the age of 18 he went left his home to study art at the Academy of San Fernando, Madrid. It was there that he first became interested in fashion. In 1961 he got his first real fashion job at Lanvin-Castillo. By the 90s he was the ideal choicefor first ladies fashion. he had a passion for haute couture. In 2002 he began creating furniture. In 2004 he began making a less expensive line of clothes called O Oscar in order to reach a new audience. He married twice and adopted a son. on October 20, 2014 he died in Kent, Connecticut from complications with cancer.
