Flu Shot Clinics Scheduled Across the District
Flu shot clinics will be starting this week! Due to staffing, we had to combine schools in order to provide opportunities for each building. If your school's designated date does not work for you, you will see there are dates/times that are available to anyone at the District Health and Wellness Center later in the month. Please check out the Flu Clinic Flyer liked below for all information regarding dates, times, location and scheduling procedures. If you have any additional questions, please contact Sara Mercer. These teams meet monthly with District Administration and are charged with bringing issues from their respective buildings to District Administration for consideration and collaborative problem solving.
The following individuals serve as Cross the Line team members in your buildings:
Elementary Cross the Line Team: Kaelyn Altmann, Kassandra Beno, Sarah Broda, Gina Connor, Jenna Dybul, Erin Ermis, Jadee Gavin, Robyn Hall, Brianna Hankemeier, Alisia Myers, Kayla Plante, Michelle Robb, Debra Rosera, Sarah Tennie, Jennifer Wunrow and Emily Zompolas.
Secondary Cross the Line Team: Amy Bowman, Grace Davis, David Dunning, Rob Funk, Margaret Konz, Jennifer Kuenster, Kristin Mahoney, Theresa Rasmussen, Amy Schneider, Scott Schneider and Jodi Stanchik.
While much of our focus for the 2022-23 school year will be facilities transitions, we will leave time at each monthly meeting for items that are important to you. Please reach out to the Cross the Line Team member in your building with issues that are important to you so that we can discuss them at our upcoming meetings. Our next meetings will take place on the week of October 10 and will continue monthly through the end of the school year. We appreciate the time that these dedicated individuals devote to making NJSD a great place to work and learn!

Health and Wellness Center Discusses Pneumonia
Pneumonia is the term used to describe an infection in the lining of one or both lungs. It can be caused by a virus, bacteria, or even a fungus. The most common causes of pneumonia are bacterial or viral infection. In very young children, viral infections are more common. In adolescents and adults, bacteria cause about the same number of cases of pneumonia as do viruses. An infection that is caused by bacteria will have more pronounced symptoms than one caused by a virus. Click here to read more.
