FOR THIS WEEK, 6th GRADE HOMEWORK INCLUDES:

  • Completing the inside cover of their encyclopedia (don't forget your photo!)
  • Practicing the first 8 measures of "The Earl of Oxford's March" at 75 bpm!

The 7th grade band students also began their second trimester unit, "International Music Tour." Each week, students will "visit" a different country and learn a song indicative of the country along with some interesting facts. At the end of our unit, students will take part in an in school field trip where we'll have some friendly competition with the 7th grade orchestra students. Both groups will be judged and rated by a guest panel...who will win the GOLDEN GLOBE THIS YEAR??? Will our 7th grade band maintain the honor??

FOR THIS WEEK, 7th GRADE HOMEWORK INCLUDES:

  • Completing the inside cover of their passport (don't forget your picture!)
  • Preparing to perform "Yankee Doodle" for a grade this week!

Look no further!

  1. Resolve to sound better and upgrade a piece of equipment! You can find the Springman Recommended Equipment list by clicking HERE. Please note that the items marked with asterisks (***) are strongly encouraged. These items will make an enormous difference in the students' sound and their performance in an ensemble. Furthermore, this equipment can be used through high school and, often, beyond high school! The more students that "step-up" even ONE piece of equipment will help our ensembles to sound amazing...plus, it's a GREAT New Year's resolution!
  2. Do you LOVE playing your instrument? Do you want an additional challenge and some one-on-one time with a professional? If so, think about taking private lessons! You'll have the tremendous opportunity to continue to advance and improve your skills! You can find the recommended Glenview Private Lesson Teacher list by clicking HERE!
