Do you Believe?
Students excel when...
As 2019 comes to a close and 2020 quickly approaches, we must take the time to reflect on what we value. Now is the perfect time to reaffirm our intentions and refocus. We set some pretty lofty goals when I came on board in June 2018. When reflecting on my time here at PCES, I am quickly reminded of how far we have come to change our school culture. We are now an "A" school, and we have received National Distinguished Title I School recognition. You are to be commended for your work! We are succeeding because our conversations are changing and our actions are following. When we come together, your concerns are student-focused. When faced with a problem, your ideas are filled with positive solutions. We are working as a team from a growth mindset with grit and, as a result, we are growing beyond our own expectations.
How did this happen so fast?
Your "Commitment to Excellence" is the reason!
I hear a shift in our talking points, and I see our teaching leveling up another notch. The next level of our transformation requires us to freely, without any reservations, believe in our students, trust our mission and honor our legacy. If we are to maximize our potential and continue to excel, we are required to keep our core beliefs at the forefront of all that we do. Now is the time to revisit what we truly believe.
Which district belief statement speaks to you?
Tis' the season for believing, and I believe that our students will rise up to exceed our clearly defined, high expectations.

Your administration team BELIEVES IN YOU!
Congratulations on a job well done!!!
We were selected by the Mississippi Department of Education and recognized by NAESPA for closing the achievement gap between student groups for two or more consecutive years.
The National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA)—formerly the National Title I Association—has been selecting examples of superior, federally funded school programs for national recognition through the National ESEA Distinguished Schools program (recently renamed from its predecessor, the National Title I Distinguished Schools program) since 1996. These schools demonstrate a wide array of strengths, including team approaches to teaching and learning, focused professional development opportunities for staff, individualized programs for student success and strong partnerships between the school, parents, and the community. What makes National ESEA Distinguished Schools’ stories especially powerful are the documented student achievement gains that have resulted from their collaborative and targeted efforts and innovations.
This is a huge honor and something to be very proud of!
How do we know we are on target?
Mahalo wins, Congratulations!
*Please make sure house points are entered every week!
