A Message from Principal Zaniolo
Important Updates & Reminders | November 20, 2019
Safe Drop Off & Pick Up
We have had several occurrences of cars parking, blocking, and driving unsafely in the cul-de-sac on the South end of our campus. Students have been walking around cars and our teachers have not been able to enter the parking lot. Beginning tomorrow, we will be closing the cul-de-sac as a drop off location. I understand this may be an inconvenience for families, but I want to ensure that students are able to be safe as they walk to and from school each day. Thank you for your flexibility.
Safety At Recess
Playing Safely
We have seen more instances of rough play during recess. As a Lincoln staff, we are talking with our Lions about appropriate and safe ways to play. I am also asking that you, at home, have this conversation with your child(ren). Let’s work together to ensure our Lions are playing safely at recess.
We are reminding students to play as friends. That means a few things…
We have a “hands off” approach to play. You can hug your friend, but pulling, pushing, wrestling, or any kind of rough play is not allowed.
Take turns on the equipment -- Each piece of equipment has rules, but in general, if there are a lot of kids in one spot, try something else and then come back when there’s less of a crowd.
Respect peoples’ personal property -- Hats, gloves, etc. are not toys and should never be taken from someone as used as a game of keep away. It may start as fun, but feelings can be hurt quickly.
If students are not following rules or playing safely at recess, they will be told to take a break by a recess supervisor. We take safety seriously, so please help us by reinforcing these messages at home with your child(ren).
Lost & Found - Last Call!
Lost and Found
We have SO MANY items that students have misplaced since the beginning of the year. Please write your child's name on all items they bring to school (e.g. bookbag, coat, sweater, boots, water bottle, lunchbox...). Also, please look at the images below from our lost and found. We will have it set up for the remainder of this week so families can check for lost belongings. Please stop by before or after school to take a look. We will make a donation of unclaimed items after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thank you!
