LEARWOOD STAFF RECOGNITIONS
Mrs. Koelsch-Carson received The Ohio Art Education Association Distinguished Fellows Award. Mrs. Koelsch-Carson was one of two award recipients this year, joining the other 56 members that have been recognized over the past 27 years. Mrs. Koelsch-Carson extends the love for Art by running Art Club after school. The Art Club supports others groups and events in the building, through her leadership. On any given Monday, you will find over 20 students in Art Club after school. Thank you for all you do for our kids and the Art program.
Mr. Jimm Lynch, science teacher, received the North Central Regional Award from the Ohio Middle Level Association. Mr. Lynch uses Innovation/Technology to make science fun and engaging for his students. He has changed the way science has been taught at the building allowing him to better meet the needs of individuals and groups in the classroom. In addition to his classes, he is also the advisor for Design Squad, where students apply 21st Century skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Students are given a problem and are required to solve it. They work in small groups with minimal guidance from him in order to achieve this their task. Students of all learning abilities (Gifted to Special Education) participate in the program and experience success. Thank you for continuously challenging our students.

PJ's FROM GRANDMA
It's that time again!
The 9th annual Jammie Drive !
PJ's from Grandma is a charitable, non-profit organization that provides jammies for children newborn to l8 years old.
These kids may be homeless, they may be staying in shelters or may have been removed from their own home to foster care.
They may be sick children. They may be hospitalized kids..
Their families may have lost their income.
How many times do we look at the children in our own lives snug, warm and secure in their own jammies. I know sometimes I take that for granted
and sometimes forget the blessings I have...
Won’t You Help This Cause ?
The need becomes greater every single year !
What we are doing is trying to collect as many new pairs of jammies that we can.
We have collected over 2600 pairs of jammies in 8 years!
You can help by donating jammies or if you don't have time to shop, just send a check and we will shop for you !!
Collecting Jammies December 1st until December 20th
You cannot imagine the happiness a simple pair of jammies brings to these kids..
Truly, their faces light up !
How Beautiful a day... when kindness touches it!
Thank You !!
