UBMS Weekly Update
May 13, 2016
2015-2016 THEME: "HAVE THE COURAGE TO SUCCEED!"
This Week's "UB Special" Award!
Sydney is our newest student in the program and even before she and her mom attended their orientation session, Sydney joined us on our trip to the University of Chicago last Friday. Sydney is showing a lot of ambition already and is a great communicator, which UBMS staff especially appreciate. Welcome Sydney!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
DONOVAN COTE turns 16 Thursday, May 15th!
Please join us in wishing Donovan a very happy birthday!
May Lunch Visits
Because of other university activities on Tuesday, we will not be coming to Horace Mann. Tracy will be in the cafeteria after school on Thursday, May 19th so that students can sign for and receive their checks.
Youth United needs your help at Walleye Weekend, June 10-12
With the support of United Way and Fond du Lac Area Foundation, United Youth is able to provide $6000 to programs that benefit children and youth.
Additionally, they also raise funds to provide a scholarship to an area senior. Service is the main criteria. For the past three years they have worked the Tats for Tots station at Walleye Weekend in order to raise these funds.
They are in need of volunteers and wondering if our UBMS kids would be interested in helping.
Walleye Weekend is June 10-12 and they are looking for youth to work in two hour shifts. Basically, it's just putting temporary tattoos on kids. It's pretty fun and the kids love it!
They also would like to have at least one adult present each shift as well.... so parents you're help is needed too!
Here are the shifts:
Friday June 10th: 3:00 - 5:30 pm or 5:30-8:00 pm
Saturday June 11th: 10-12pm, 12-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm or 6-8pm
Sunday June 12th: 10-12pm, 12-2pm, 2-4pm or 4-6pm
Please let Tracy know ASAP when you are able to volunteer.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS for May's REQUIRED PROGRAM
We've been listening to your requests and happy to have four panelists confirmed already from the areas of technology, journalism, engineering, and physical therapy.
Come prepared with questions AND pen and paper - again, it would be a good time to dust off your white binders and fill them with valuable information.
This notice is being given to you nearly one month in advance. It is a required event. We ask that you make every effort to be there. Thanks for your cooperation.
Fondy Seniors will be excused if attending their Senior Awards Banquet that evening.
