Message from Principals

We have had a busy week with our teachers preparing for the upcoming year. We will have training on building relationships and student engagement in virtual learning, as well as lots of times for teams to prepare to support students' social, emotional, and physical health as the school year begins. Teachers will also be working through some new resources to support student learning.

For those of you who have opted for virtual learning, you can find information specific to you here.

We will finish up our preparations next week.

This year we have virtual registration. As of August 17 at 8:00 am you could start registration and access your child's schedule. All the fees for your child/children can be paid online through Infinite Campus. If you have more than one child, doesn't matter what school they attend, you can pay all fees together at once. At this time, you can also add lunch money to your family account. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Lake Denoon office.

Census Update

On July 1st, the district opened its annual census update on Infinite Campus. ALL parents/guardians are REQUIRED to participate in the annual census update/online registration. This process provides the district with the most current information for emergency contacts, student health conditions, etc. and ensures your student is enrolled in the correct location and grade. This is a requirement for your student to attend school. If you have not completed this, please log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to complete this ASAP.

Students are expected to purchase their own combination lock from Lake Denoon Middle School. As with current combination locks, these locks can be opened by a school administrator to search the contents if the need arises. The lock’s serial number must be registered with school personnel. Students may NOT purchase/use an outside lock. During our Open House, students will be able to find their assigned locker. For 2020-21, only incoming fifth grade and new LDMS students or those needing a lock because it was lost need to purchase one. During the school year, lost or replacement locks can be purchased in the Student Services office.

5th & 6th Grade Students: Your lockers will be located outside of your Homeroom Teacher's classroom. It will be labeled with a sticker that has your name on it.

7th & 8th Grade Students: Your lockers will be located outside of your 15/16 Teacher's classroom. If you have an encore class during this time, your locker will be located at the beginning of the hallway. It will be labeled with a sticker that has your name on it.

Hot Lunch Finger Scanning

We encourage all students to have their finger scanned for our hot lunch program. It speeds up the processes of paying for hot lunch or any other items your child may purchase at this time. This gives the children more time to eat and socialize with their friends.

Please Click Here to visit the information on the finger scanning process.

Phy Ed Update

In order to minimize students crowding together, we will not be using the locker rooms to start the school year. Please remind your child to wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes on their PE days. Also, all PE classes will be held outdoors unless it is raining, thundering or lightning, or below zero wind chill. Please dress appropriately as the cooler weather approaches.

Lunchbox Update

To prevent cross contamination, we will have a new process for students who bring cold lunch. Students will take their cold lunch boxes outside after eating and will line them up along the wall until it’s time to go back into the building. At this time, it is their responsibility to remember to collect their lunchbox. If it is forgotten, it will be placed in the lost and found.

Driving Pattern for Drop Off and Pick Up

The driveway closest to the building is for buses only. If you are driving your child to school, you come into the parking lot, using the parking lot entrance that is closest to the building. From there, we need you to pull up to the furthest open spot available to drop off your child - this may be beyond the flagpole. It is important that cars move all the way up and drop off students promptly. Any backup will delay our buses entering their drop off location and delay the start of classes, so we need everyone to do their part.

School Pictures

All students need to have their pictures taken for the yearbook and honor card. There is no cost for this unless you choose to order pictures.

Pictures will be taken September 30 and October 1.

Pictures can be ordered online, now through October 8th Click Here, go to school search and use the drop down menu to select “Lake Denoon Middle School 2020-2021”. From there follow the instructions to complete picture ordering. Sports Pics will send your child’s picture order directly to your home.
