Dear Alex by: Alexandra Valencia
Dear Alex,
I am in 7th grade but there is this kid in 8th grade that keeps grabbing my shoulder in the hall. How do I make him stop?
That’s a great question and there are two possible ways to make him stop: First you can confront him about it and ask him to stop, or if he keeps grabbing you after you ask him to stop then you should tell a teacher.
Dear Alex,
How can I do better in school? I want to be an A-B honor roll student but I always make C’s.
Make sure that you always do your homework and try studying for at least 20 minutes for each test. You should see improvement in your grades over time.
Dear Alex,
My best friend didn’t make the basketball team and she’s really upset about it. How can I help her?
Well, there will always be other sports to tryout for and she will always be able to try out next year, but right now you should just make sure she knows that she is a great player and wasn’t the only one that didn’t make tryouts so she shouldn’t be discouraged. She should take this opportunity to improve on some of the skills that she thinks she needs to work on and be ready for tryouts next year. Maybe consider signing up for rec. ball.
Dear Alex,
Why are girls so sassy?
Well not all girls are sassy. There are nice ones, quiet ones, and even fun loving ones! Just stay away from the rude sassy ones because you don't want to end up in a situation that you wouldn't know how to get out of.
Dear Alex,
What are the expectations on Midterms?
- Well i'm glad you asked us because this would be our second year going through the Midterms and you should always do your best because it shows what you have learned over the first semester. This is a big percentage for your grade and if you flunk it, it is always going to show up on your records.

Teacher of the Week: Mrs. Williams
What inspired you to be a teacher?
It was a season General Education Teacher whom I assisted as a Instructional Paraprofessional. She would always ask while observing me during reading intervention,"What are you waiting on to enroll in college?" After sharing the similarities of our lifestyles, she inspired me to become a Special Education Teacher.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself in 10 years as a college professor. I want to be able to have an impact on young adults and encourage them to believe that they can conquer anything regardless of their current situations.
What is your favorite thing about summers?
Family time matters therefore I look forward to our summer vacations and I enjoy traveling with beach volleyball sport clubs with my daughter.
What has been your biggest challenge from teaching?
My biggest challenge from teaching is seeing the potential in students but because of their environment, it causes them to shut down and not want to apply themselves appropriately.
What are your hobbies outside of teaching?
My hobbies outside of teaching is planning and coordinating our annual family travel and events. Also, I enjoy collecting butterflies in memory of my loving mother.
How does it feel to be the new teacher?

We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice.
But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens.
Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct. After nine years with the Board, she knows that most problems are caused by incompetence, not corruption.
But a corruption case eventually crosses her desk. A previously disbarred lawyer is back in business with a new identity. He now goes by the name Greg Myers, and he claims to know of a Florida judge who has stolen more money than all other crooked judges combined. And not just crooked judges in Florida. All judges, from all states, and throughout U.S. history.
What’s the source of the ill-gotten gains? It seems the judge was secretly involved with the construction of a large casino on Native American land. The Coast Mafia financed the casino and is now helping itself to a sizable skim of each month’s cash. The judge is getting a cut and looking the other way. It’s a sweet deal: Everyone is making money.
But now Greg wants to put a stop to it. His only client is a person who knows the truth and wants to blow the whistle and collect millions under Florida law. Greg files a complaint with the Board on Judicial Conduct, and the case is assigned to Lacy Stoltz, who immediately suspects that this one could be dangerous.
Dangerous is one thing. Deadly is something else.
Choir Performance Interview.
What is your favorite part about being in choir? "I love having Hannah Q. in my class but the class is all girls."
Are you exited about Friday Night? "I am super pumped and exited for the food."
Did you think you would make choir when you tried out? "No."
How is having 7th graders in your Team? "It's fine it gets bad sometimes but I like it."
