WHY WORLD WAR 1 STARTED
Many European Countries were afraid of war, so they formed Alliances. European Nations began to compete for Colonies in Africa and Asia, this made bad feelings between countries. The future leader of Austria-Hungary, Archduke Francis Ferdin, was assassinated in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia.
WHY U.S. ENTERED THE WAR
Thy U.S. Government was furious that German submarines attacked and sunk the Lustitania. The U.S. Government didn't like that Germany tried to convince Mexico to go to war against U.S. Germany also sunk three American trade ships.
HOW IT ENDED
On November 11, 1918 the Central powers surrendered. The last battle and the largest battle was the battle of Meuse Argonne, over one million United States troops fought, they won because the Central powers surrendered. The Central Powers lost about 3 million soldiers and the Allied Powers lost about 5 million soldiers
