News From the Nest
January 16 - January 19
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Falcon Families,
Congratulations to the middle school boys and girls who made the APS basketball team! We are looking forward to an exciting season beginning with our home opener on Monday, January 22 at 5:15pm.
PTSA's International Night is coming up on Wednesday, January 24 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. This event will celebrate the many cultures within our school and community! This free, family event is a centerpiece of the Spring semester, similar to “Night at the Nest” in the fall. In addition to cultural showcases made by APS families, there will be international short films, Olympics-style games, animals (including an armadillo and alligator!), a musical instrument “petting zoo,” activities from community partners, and food trucks – no need to cook dinner! Join your friends and family for this fun and festive celebration of our global, international community!! Volunteers are still needed! If your family is interested in hosting a cultural table or helping set up/break down, please email international.apsk8@gmail.com before 1/20.
Please don't forget that campus will be closed on Monday, January 15 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Consider completing an act of service to celebrate Dr. King's legacy.

MIDDLE SCHOOL THEATRE
The production of Game of Tiaras will be hitting the stage on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27! Both performances begin at 7:30pm.
Ticket Prices: $10
Play synopsis: When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.
*This is a retelling of a Shakespearean tragedy therefor this play is classified as a Middle School age play
