The 5 Most Important Amendments
By John Mauser, Andrew Micillo, and Matt Hjalte
Our 5 Most Important Amendments
As our five most important amendments we chose Amendment one, nine, six, four, and eight. For the reasons stated below.
Amendment I
We believe that Amendment 1 is the most important right because it guarantees freedom of speech, press, and religion. Freedom of speech was important because gives you the right to express any opinion without censorship or restraint. Freedom of Religion is the right to practice religion of choice and Freedom of press is the right to print express your opinions through print.
Amendment IX
This amendment is the second most important right because it protects rights that are not stated in the constitution. Which means that even though it doesn’t say it you can tie your shoes you are still allowed to wear them.
Amendment IV
We think that Amendment 4 is very important but not the most important because it doesn’t allow police and or military men to come in your home and search for things without specific evidence.
Amendment VI
We think that this amendment is important because it guarantees a fair and speedy trial to the defendant. So, that you do not have to sit in court for a long period of time. Also, it would be a fair trial so that you don't have to worry about an unfair trial
Amendment VIII
This amendment is an important amendment because it doesn’t allow the government or police officers to give out unnecessary fines for no reason. They have to have a good reason to give out a fine or punishment.
