WBMS Friday Notes
March 18-22
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
Spring is here and we are busy at WBMS! One of this week’s highlights was our Daffodil Project Dedication. In the fall, many of our students, staff, and parents planted hundreds of bulbs in front of our school to remember the lives of the 1.5 million children lost in The Holocaust, and this week we dedicated the garden as a living memorial to all children who have or are currently suffering injustice. The moving event included the founder of the project and a Holocaust survivor. If you were not able to attend, please take a moment to walk around the front of the school to see our physical promise to accepting ourselves and others and choosing compassion over judgment, curiosity over fear, and love over hate.
Another ongoing project has been adding to “The Webb Way”. Earlier this semester we asked our students to recommend additional words to expand our beloved “Webb Way”. We want “The Webb Way” to define not only how we behave but also who we are, what we stand for, and what we value. I was impressed with our students’ thoughtful submissions. Our staff discussed the words our students proposed; and after much consideration, they narrowed the list. Now we’d like to hear from you. Please use the form below to reflect and vote on additional “Webb Way” words. We will take your results back to our students for the final round, and we will unveil our added words before the end of the year and integrate them into our learning community next year.
I hope you and your families are able to get outside this weekend and enjoy the wonderful weather! And if you do not have plans tonight, please join us for our annual Talent Show! Our students (and even some staff members)have honed their talents and are ready to WOW us tonight!
