Celebrating our Catholic Heroes The Saints
-------------------
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Sacred Heart Families,
We are excited to share some wonderful news about two Sacred Heart alumni who recently achieved a great honor. Garret Phipps, and SHS classmate Stephen Matko (SHS Class of 2018) are National Merit Scholarship Semi Finalists! The 16,000 semifinalists nationwide represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring PSAT/SAT entrants in each state. Garret is a Senior at St. Vincent- St. Mary and Stephen at Hoban. We are proud of both Garret and Stephen on this amazing achievement!
I am also excited to announce that parents and students can keep up with all the great happenings going on at Sacred Heart by following me on Twitter @mrcshsprincipal. I will post pics about all the amazing moments that I am privileged to experience on a daily basis here at "The Heart," as well as reminders about upcoming events.
This is a reminder that this is a short week. There is no school beginning Wednesday, November 24th through Monday, November 29th. Students will return to class on Tuesday, November 30th.
November 30th is Giving Tuesday across our country. Here in the Diocese of Cleveland we will be holding our annual #WeGiveCatholic day. This important day of fundraising helps our schools and parishes to raise much needed funds to enhance and facilitate our programming. I am asking all our families to please use the information below to get the word out and encourage your family, friends, coworkers and relatives to consider supporting Sacred Heart School this year. The money we raise will help us continue to upgrade and improve our building, particularly in the area of digital active panel boards. Our goal is replace our aging projector based boards for new, cost effective active panel boards. These boards are more intuitive, offer more features for both our students and teachers and are cheaper to maintain. I thank you in advance for supporting #WeGiveCatholic this year!
Please also note the information below related to some additional COVID-19 safety protocols for the week we return after Thanksgiving Break and to our school Giving Tree.
I pray that you will all have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
In Christ,
Mr. C

If you take an at home COVID-19 test it MUST BE PROCTORED to be valid. Tests that are taken without a proctor are not valid.
PLEASE NOTE - SPECIAL COVID-19 Precautions for the Week of November 30th - December 3rd
Due to the anticipated rise in COVID-19 cases expected following additional travel and family gatherings over the Thanksgiving holiday the below listed precautions will be implemented for the week we return to school (Tuesday, November 30th - Friday, December 3rd):
Students will need to wear a mask:
While attending activities with large numbers of students indoors such as Mass, assemblies, performances etc.
When entering or exiting the building or moving in groups through the building.
When close group work (less than 3 feet) is being offered by teachers such as in the science lab, partner work, carpet time and centers.
While students are receiving support, tutor or aide services in small groups or in one to one situations. This also includes instances where teachers may be working in close proximity with a student for more than 15 minutes.
For activities that involve singing.
Staff will need to wear a mask when working within 6 feet of students or staff indoors.
This is also a reminder that any child who is displaying symptoms or feels ill must remain home.

Adorers Needed
Our tabernacle-monstrance allowed us to come back to having adoration when we didn't have enough adorers, but now, after a year and a half, we are moving back to Perpetual Adoration with a monstrance where the Blessed Sacrament is always in exposition. This means that at least one person must be always present. For this reason it's necessary that open hours are filled.
We are asking for individuals or groups of individuals to consider filling the hours below. If you would like more information please contact Patti at passiflora44281@gmail.com.
Hours that are in need of Adorers
Sundays: 1am, 2nd & 5th weeks 2am, 3am, 3pm. Mondays: 1am, 2am, 3am. Wednesdays: 3am. Fridays: 1am. Saturdays 2am.
