Broadcasting Students Win Award!
The duo won first place for their work on the video titled "Veterans of Alice Buffett". In this video, Americas and Heaven interviewed four different staff members of Buffett who are United States Veterans. Their winning video is currently featured on the NETA site and during the spring conference they will be recognized for their efforts. Great work Americas and Heaven!
Winter MAP
MAP testing started in Math classes this week. The NWEA MAP assessment is designed to show growth over time. The assessments students take this winter compared to how they scored when they took the assessments in the fall are a significant indicator of growth. The data is used to help place students in courses for next school year.
Assessments will take place for ELA on the following dates:
- Jan. 21-25-ELA
It is important for students to:
- take the assessments seriously and always do their best.
- get plenty of rest and good nutrition.
- maintain regular attendance and arrive to school on time.
- avoid appointments that require missing a tested block.

MTSSB - High Five Door Decorating Contest!
Buffett had their first annual Buffett High Five Door Decorating Contest!
Bobcat den classes were asked to create a door that displayed one or all of the Buffett High Five with a festive winter theme.
Mr. Staberg's Bobcat den was chosen as the overall winner. Students in Mr. Staberg's class earned 10 Buffett Bucks for their efforts and one giant Buffett Buck to display in their room. There were many creative doors making it difficult for the judges to choose. Thanks to all that participated.

How do students win?
- Have perfect attendance for ONE WEEK (zero tardies AND zero absences)
- Have your name randomly drawn from the list of students who had perfect attendance for ONE WEEK.
Don't forget...Sixteen students will be randomly selected each week. And, you get a fresh start every single week. All you need is FIVE DAYS without tardies or absences.
