Odyssey FCCLA
Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America
2021 Colorado FCCLA virtual State Leadership Conference
April 8-10, 2021 was an inspiring weekend of competition, recognition, and continuing leadership journeys for the Odyssey FCCLA members who attended the 2021 Colorado FCCLA State Conference. Taking place virtually for the first time, members had opportunities to engage in workshops and showcase the leadership skills they developed in their Family & Consumer Sciences classes - Education Pathway and Hospitality Pathway courses. Workshop topics focused on school nutrition, positive social media presence, careers in family and consumer sciences, mental health, and celebrating milestones and achievements Colorado FCCLA has accomplished in its 75 years as a state charter.
All the hard work Odyssey FCCLA put into competitive events paid off! Odyssey FCCLA was proud to have students compete in state level events: Gourmet Food Presentation Savory, and Gourmet Food Presentation Sweet; and national level events: Hospitality Tourism & Recreation, and Early Childhood Education. All four members placed first in their event! The two FCCLA members that competed in national level events qualified to represent Colorado at the 2021 National Leadership Conference.
As sophomores all four members have the opportunity to be part of FCCLA next school year. They could also apply their knowledge and demonstrate skills through STAR Event competitions again. The 2022 National Leadership Conference will be in San Diego, CA.
