Panther News

Thank you for hosting our visitors again this week! Click here to view the Panther News for next week. In order to maximize instructional time, please make sure snack time is integrated into the learning time and not a separate part of the day. This is a friendly reminder that our instructional day begins at 7:50. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.

GOFAR is now active in SLDS and item banks are available now for all Math and ELA courses in 3rd - 5th grade. First and Second grade Math and ELA will be available soon. Science and Social Studies items are only available for selected grades and courses.

GOFAR information and/or resources can be found at

Georgia Milestones

It was decided this week that all 3rd grade students, all 5th grade students, and all students (3rd - 5th) with small group testing accommodations will test online for the Georgia Milestones. This will allow for a fast turn around for the retest administration for 3rd and 5th grade students. It is looking like the Retest Administration will be on May 25th (ELA Section 1), May 26th (ELA Section 2), and May 27th (Math). If these dates change, we will let you know.

2014-2015 system and school scores should be available mid to late October. We will notify you as soon as they become available. GaDoE will be using a new platform for delivering reports (eDIRECT) as well as a new assessment platform (INSIGHT). Training for INSIGHT will be conducted closer to the testing window in March.

Score Interpretation Guides, which will include sample student reports, summary reports, and Achievement level Descriptors for each standard, will be available in October.

Milestone updated information/resources on the GaDoE website should now be available. They include but are not limited to: Milestones Video, Parent Resources (brochures, study guides, etc….), and Educator Resources (ALDs, EOG-EOC resources, presentations, etc…).

All of these resources can be found at

It is a school goal that we meet with 100% of our parents during parent teacher conference week. If you are teaming, all teachers may want to meet with the students you are most concerned about, but one teacher will suffice when meeting with other parents.

School Survey

We have created a school survey (link below) via Survey Monkey for you to provide the admin team feedback on how the year is going. We welcome your feedback!

October Car Rider Schedule

Click here for the October Car Rider Schedule. Thank you so much for your help in the afternoons!! It is greatly appreciated!

SBRC Training for new teachers

If you are interested in leading a Standards Based Report Card training for our new teachers, please let us know. We would like to have something in place prior to the grade level 1/2 day planning days in October. Thank you so much for your consideration!

Science Night Supplies

After talking with PTO, they have set a maximum of $100 per grade level for Science Night. Feel free to purchase the items you need for Science Night and turn in copies of receipts with the teacher's name at the top to Sandy McCaa or Bonnie Pate. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

There is still a hold on entering SLO data. We will push out this information as soon as we receive it.

Moby Max

On the teacher wish list, we noticed that several people were wanting Moby Max. We have purchased a school wide license to Moby Max. Andrea Waldrip is in the process of getting our school account set up, and she will send out more information when she has finalized everything.

Parent Involvement Compact

Title I schools are required to share a Parent Involvement Compact powerpoint this year with the faculty. Click here to view the powerpoint. We will place a sign off sheet in the mailroom by the sign in sheets for you to sign off verifying that you read the powerpoint. If you have any questions about any of the content described in the slides, please let us know. Thank you in advance for signing that you read the powerpoint by October 9th.

Live Binder

Kathy Miller and Amity Hardegree are updating the Live Binder website, so feel free to check this website for more math and literacy information. The link is copied below, just in case.
