REMEMBER --- SCHOOL AT HOME OCCURS VIA TEAMS ON THE DAYS STUDENTS ARE NOT IN THE BUILDING; STUDENTS WILL HAVE LEARNING TASKS TO COMPLETE.
Completion of these learning tasks ensures students are learning and mastering grade level standards.
It is very important for your child to follow the learning schedule provided by the teachers and to complete their assignments by the due date.
Synchronous Learning
Synchronous learning means the teacher is teaching both groups of students at the same time rather than providing assignments that students do on their own when they are not in the building.
Teachers have provided a schedule of when they will be live for your student at home to join the classroom.
We understand this may not be convenient for all of our families. A recording of the day's lesson is being provided in Schoology so students may watch the teacher's lesson at their convenience.
We understand the constant changes can be frustrating..........PLEASE REACH OUT TO US AND LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN HELP.
Please be patient with us as we are learning this new process as well.
In the News - Thank you to our Dedicated, Hard Working Teachers
Melinda Stewart, director of secondary curriculum, gave an update on remote learning and student achievement, saying the Hodgesville Elementary School had a very successful synchronized learning day.
“They had the TEAMS meeting going for those who were full-time remote learning as well as the teacher teaching in the classroom. The students were able to interact with one another. Students at home were raising their hands and participating, and they were excited about the interaction of peers that had not happened in a long time,” Stewart said.
Grade Cards
You may check Schoology to see your child's grades while we wait.
If you have questions or cannot see the grades, please reach out to us.
Grading Changes for 3rd Quarter
We will be having students practice mastery of standards with assignments throughout the week. The practice grades will be averaged to obtain a grade for the student's understanding of the concept.
We are learning this process along with you. Please ask your child's teacher for assistance.

Valentine's Day Party
Students will continue the tradition of exchanging valentines. Teachers will be sending a list of students to you. Please have students prepare valentines for their entire class. :)
If you need valentines for your child, please let us know as we have lots to share.
Remote students are encouraged to participate. Please drop off valentines for the child's class by 3:30 p.m. February 10. You may stop by the office and pick up your child's valentines on Monday, February 15.
Students will share valentines, complete a craft, and have a snack for their party.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid pandemic, families will not be able to attend the parties.
