● Red Ribbon Week- Happy Halloween- Bring your Halloween costume to school so that you can wear it later- “Say ‘BOO’ to drugs!”

● Kindergarten Trick-or-Treat @ Osage Rehab.
● PRIDE assembly and pumpkin bowling.
Friday:
● Cookie dough order forms are due.

Middle School Happenings
Fundraising Kick-off!
Our fundraising kick-off will take place this Monday (28th). Your financial contributions and support are our main source of funding for the 8th grade Eagle Bluff field trip, as well as several other middle school opportunities. Please look for information coming home with your middle schooler!
Red Ribbon Week
Middle School is celebrating Red Ribbon Week! The Student Ambassadors met and chose some fun dress-up days to celebrate being drug-free! Below are the list of those days.
Monday, October 28th- Your Choices are the Key to your Dreams! (Wear your pajamas)
Tuesday, October 29th- Too Smart for Drugs! (Dress in your favorite/future career attire) (Staff- dress as a different career)
Wednesday, October 30th- Doing Drugs is Crazy! (Dress mismatched and wacky)
Thursday, October 31st- Say Boo to Drugs! (Wear your Halloween costume)
Friday, November 1st- Our School is Drug Free! (Show your school spirit! Wear your Osage green and white)
Winter Sports Meetings
We will have our winter sports meetings on Wednesday (30th) this week, for those students interested in joining basketball, wrestling or cheerleading.
Discover Day Inventory
NIACC will be here this week working with our 8th graders. This is joint effort with Mrs. Schaub to help our students start to think about their interests and passions, after high school. They will have the opportunity to visit NIACC's campus in a couple of months and attend sessions based on their interests!
High School Happenings
SUCCESSFUL HAPPENINGS
ECO CLUB members have been busy BEES preparing for the implementation of beehives we will have in the school courtyard. Members are also hoping to visit classrooms to educate and encourage others to think about nature and our future.
UP AND COMING
On Wednesday, October 30th the Junior class will be taking The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), a heavily researched and well-respected aptitude test developed by the Department of Defense. It measures a young adult’s strengths and potential for success in military training.
On November 1st Our Junior class will have their final session with MOBILE MAMA…moms with a passion for sharing resources, tools, and education with our young adults on how to deal with potential benefits and potential harms of technology.
A great deal of time and effort has been put into improving our students Green Time/Enrichment at the end of the day. During this time students have the opportunity to acquire extra help in all subjects, work on missing assignments, take/retake test in the assessment center, makeup band/music lessons. The most recent addition is offering one on one tutoring to our students by our students. Coordinating the improvements to GT has required hours of planning and continued communication by our teachers to assist our students the best we can.
"Beauty and the Beast" musical ticket sales have begun. There will be approximately 200 reserved advance seats sold for each performance. The rest of the seating for each show with be general admission on a first come first served basis.

PERFORMANCE dates and times: Friday, Nov. 8th at 7:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 9th at 1:30 pm Saturday, Nov. 9th at 7:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 10th at 1:30 pm.Osage High School will have college reps visiting from Hawkeye Community College on October 25th and Central College on November 6th. During this time students have the opportunity for one on one communication to see what their college has to offer.
Esports Club run by Mr. Kyhl is in its second year and going strong with 20+ students. Members are either practicing or competing after school on Mondays and Thursdays. Losing only once this season, competing members were seated 2nd and will take on Dike in the Semi-Finals next Thursday at 5 pm in the Osage computer lab.
