Wrightstown Ravens' News
April 1, 2022
Tonight the PTO is hosting their Annual Bingo Night in the Newtown Middle School cafeteria starting at 7:00 PM! Below are maps of the school to assist with parking. We hope you can join us for a fun evening! Thank you to the PTO and Ms. Swain for organizing this popular event! Information and details are included below in this newsletter.
It is hard to believe the month of April is here and under 50 days remain in the school year! Students are craving warmer temperatures and time outdoors. They are excited as they sense summer is not too far away. This is expected and OK! However, with an increase in energy levels this is when recess can become challenging. The staff and I remind students that recess play should not look the same as their competitive sports or even at home play. If you could please emphasize to your child/ren that recess is a time for movement and fun with friends. It is not a time for physical play. Safety is our first priority and we thank you in advance for helping to support this message.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Beth

Literacy Corner by Mrs. Etgen
Spring is in the air! I hope that you are enjoying this warmer weather and being outside. This is a perfect time of year to spark an interest in journaling through birdwatching, a tree hunt, or even family hikes. Children love to have purposeful writing activities, so if you want some ideas for outdoor writing activities, check out this link. AND on those rainy days of Spring, if you want to remember some oldies, but goodies, check out this link for some SchoolHouse Rock Language Arts videos! It is always fun to share information with your children through songs! My website also has links for book suggestions, curriculum information, and other reading resources. As always, please reach out to me if you need suggestions or have concerns about your child’s reading. Happy Spring, and Happy Reading!
Counselor's Corner
Dear WES Community,
School counselors focus on personal, social, academic, and career planning goals. It’s never too early for students to start learning about different careers! This month, students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades all worked on different aspects of career development, such as having a growth mindset, perseverance, conflict resolution, and learning about their personalities/interests in relation to careers. I look forward to continuing to support all WES students as they explore career options.
All the best,
Mrs. Barbara Aiello
