inertia, Newton's first law

Newtons first law is often called inertia. Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in motion. This includes changes to it speed and direction. An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in at the same speed and in the same direction, unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
