- Believe Me, Goldilocks Rocks
- No Lie, Pigs (and their Houses) can Fly
We posed questions to challenge ourselves to think about the character's point of view and how it influences our understanding of the story. Questions we asked ourselves were:
- How does the narrator’s point of view influence how the events are described?
- How would the story be different if another character told the story?
At Home:
Please remind your child to read a text of their choosing every night for 30 minutes. All of this reading does not have to happen consecutively, but over the course of the evening. Encourage your reader to consider who is telling the story and why this matters.

"What My Name Means" Poetry Inquiry
Invitation: I am attaching links (click on the names below) for some of the poems written by Dutch Fork Elementary staff. Feel free to write your own "What My Name Means" poem, so that YOU can also be a mentor for us! Thank you in advance for all of the brave poets who share their writing with us.
Letter from Miss Plemmons, Our Student Teacher
My name is Haley Plemmons and I have the privilege of being an intern for this amazing class. I am a senior at The University of South Carolina where I am enrolled in the Elementary Education Professional Program. This semester I am starting my internship. I will be spending Wednesdays and Thursdays with your children. I am extremely excited to get to know your children over the next few months and learn alongside them. In the three short days I have spent with your children I have already learned so much about them! They are all so bright and have a lot to offer in the classroom. Even though I am only with the students twice a week, I know they will impact my teaching experience in a positive way. I cannot wait to see your children grow as learners and individuals over the next few months!
My Favorite Things:
My dog, Boomer
Ice cream
The beach
Reading
My family
Gamecocks!
Sincerely,
Miss Plemmons
