Out With the Old, In With the Used!

Do you have outgrown uniform items in good, clean condition? Pass on the Plaid! Drop off items at the school office Jan. 23rd-27th for the PTO Uniform Closet! PTO will sort items, and have them available for free shopping after school on Feb. 3rd. Please do not drop off items after the 27th (so we can keep the front office area tidy). If you forget, bring items to the Uniform Closet in the meeting rooms on Feb. 3rd. The PTO Uniform Closet will be open for free shopping after carpool ends on Friday, Feb. 3rd. Park in the north lot, enter the north doors next to the music room, then turn left to go to the meeting rooms across from the gym.

New Year, New Devices?

Did your child receive a new device for Christmas? Remember, students may not bring a cell phone/device to school without a release form on file in the office. Cell phones/devices should be turned off and stored in bags during the school day. Students do not need to be on personal devices at all during the school day, and that includes cell phones, smart watches, etc. If it can’t be switched off, it should not be at school. Per school policy, the school has the right to confiscate any personal devices that interfere with learning.

Carpool Reminders

Please remember to stay off cell phones once you enter our school pick up and drop off lines. This is a rule outlined in our carpool procedures to ensure you are alert and paying attention. Also, try to minimize the space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. This helps shorten the line so no one blocks traffic on Greystone. Thank you for helping us keep our students and staff safe!

Apply for the Yearbook Committee!

Are you a 7th or 8th grade student interested in helping create our school yearbook? Fill out the yearbook application & submit by Jan. 17th for consideration for our Yearbook Committee! Committee size is limited, so apply soon! The Yearbook Committee will meet late January through April. Details available on the application page, or email Mrs. Hattaway with questions.

Art Club - Enroll for February!

*Art Club for 3rd-8th grade students will resume in February, and we are making a few changes! Art Club is moving from Wednesdays to Fridays, but the times will be the same. We will begin right after carpool and end at 4:30. The first day of Art Club next month will be Friday, February 3rd.

*Starting next month it will be highly encouraged to enroll only if your student can attend all 4 weeks. Refunds will not be available after February 3rd. We will be working on some guided projects so attendance will be important. The students will still have some time for independent projects as well!

*Art Club fee for February will be $60 and can be paid through venmo to Kara-Lane-20 or you can drop off a check to the office made out to Kara Whitmire with "Art Club-(student's name)" in the memo section. Please have your enrollment form filled out and fee paid by Friday, February 3rd to reserve your student’s space. Email any questions to kwhitmire@steugeneschool.org.

Sign up for February Art Club.
