Earthquake Drill 2nd Period
Based on recent events in our area, we want to be prepared for all severe disasters that occur. We will have an earthquake drill right before our evacuation drill.
Please go over these simple steps with your learners before the drill on February 18th.
Drop, Cover, and Hold On Earthquake Drill
1. Ask students to drop to the floor and get into a duck and cover position to protecting the head, neck and chest.
(They may move under a sturdy table or desk. If there is no furniture available, go near an interior wall.)
Be mindful of what could come collapsing down due to the shaking and adjust.
2. If you go underneath a table or desk, hold onto the legs of the desk. If no tables or desks are available, cover with hands over the head and neck.
3. Once shaking has stopped, look around as you exit the room carefully following your evacuation routes (same as the evacuation drill).
-Bring your classroom roll
If you are planning to be gone on Wednesday, please inform your substitutes of these steps above and provide them with your emergency plan folder. Thank you.
