Return-to-Hybrid Schedule

Given current COVID-19 health metrics and following a discussion at the December 14th board of education meeting, District 47 will begin a return to hybrid learning next week. Hybrid learning consists of modified, in-person instruction and remote learning. To ensure adequate staffing levels across the district, students will be brought back gradually to our schools, starting with our youngest learners.

Return-to-Hybrid Schedule

  • Monday, January 11: Students in preK-Grade 2 and all self-contained special education programs (all grades)
  • Monday, January 25: Students in grades 3-5
  • Monday, February 8: Students in grades 6-8

The daily schedule will remain the same, whether remote or in-person: 8am to noon and 2pm to 3pm (virtual), Monday through Friday.

Remote Learning Expectations:

  • Cameras on and used appropriately (showing faces).
  • Be on time to class.
  • Attend classes in an appropriate area and dressed for the day.
  • Use District 47 issued device.
  • Attendance is taken for XLT.
  • Show up to 2:30pm enrichment when requested by your teacher.

Food Distribution

We are excited to share that the Illinois State Board of Education Nutrition Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently announced that breakfast and lunch will be available to all students at no charge through June 30, 2021.

In-person students will continue to be offered “grab-and-go” style sack breakfast/ lunches at school at the end of each day. Families of remote students can pick up a week's worth of meals on Tuesdays from 3-6pm at Hannah Beardsley Middle School.

D47 Teaching and Learning Highlights!

We’d like to highlight the great teaching and learning going on both remotely and in-person in District 47. Excited about something a student has learned? Want to give a shout-out to a special teacher? Please email a brief description and/or photos to Denise Barr, Director of Communications and Public Engagement, at dbarr@d47.org or post to social media with hashtag #forward47. We’d like to include these highlights in our weekly “D47in47” video.
