Mrs. Lyons' Class Week 24
Math, Science, Social Studies
February 15th-19th
Thank you all so much for all of the love on Friday! Each note, card, candy, and gift was appreciated and enjoyed! The kid's valentine boxes were adorable too!
A note from the office was sent home Friday. Grace is participating in a service project to supply food items for the needy. First grade was assigned bags of flour. They are asking each first grader to bring in one bag on or before Wednesday's chapel service. I am personally rewarding each student (that brings a bag of flour) for their good deed with a sugar free popsicle at recess on Thursday.
Test Schedule

(This requires an adult's help)
Math
Please send a small bag of real coins for your child on Monday if you have not done so already. We will continue learning about coins this week as well as complete our daily Excel lessons.
We are working on mastering addition and subtraction facts with timed drills and fluency & fitness games. Practice math facts at home with the Rainbow math cards, flash cards, or a fun app or video! Mastering math facts is important before moving to the 2nd grade.
Social Studies Focus This Week:
We will learn about Presidents this week with a lesson on Washington and Lincoln as well as discuss our current president, Barack Obama. We will also relate our lessons to Math with a close look at the president's found on our coins.
