Reflection Corner: Celebrating Valentine's during Lent

If we love one another, God lives in us.

And God’s love is perfected in us, - 1 John 4:12

Celebrating Valentine’s Day this Season of Lent is a beautiful reminder that a life of unconditional love, reverence, and self–sacrifice is the greatest gift. This is the very gift demonstrated by Saint Valentine and by the other saints past and present and of the life of Jesus Christ. Love your neighbor as YOURSELF.”

PRAYER:
Come, my Savior, comfort our spirit.
Make us steadfast in our love for you,
So that we never cease loving…
When I began to love, your love laid hold of my heart.
There is a warmth in the loving heart…
And from it has given sweetness,
And in particular, music which comes in to soothe our spirit,
For there you, my God and my comfort,
Have set up your Temple.

Promoting OLM at Mater Dolorosa Parish

Last Sunday, Our Lady of Mercy School visited Mater Dolorosa Parish in South San Francisco. Junior High students Sydney Yap, Kiara Dioquino, and Jocelyn Leon Guerrero joined Mr. Burgos in providing local parishioners information about our school. This is part of our efforts to share the great work that we are doing at our school to our neighboring parishes. Special thanks to our three students and their parents. Shown in the pictures are Sydney; Kiara; Jocelyn; Mr. Burgos; Nathaniel Leon Guerrero and OLM mothers, Lisa Yap and Maricel Leon Guerrero.

Fr. Desiano Speaks to our Seventh and Eighth Graders

Our seventh and eighth graders attended a short talk by Fr. Frank Desiano, a Paulist priest and President of Paulist Evangelization Ministries yesterday at our Church. He spoke about all of us as the modern fishermen / fishers of men. His message challenged us to be missionaries ourselves while using our gifts / talents to help others.
