Contact the office if you have questions.
Whenever we do a drill, Mrs. Ybarra speaks over the PA system, giving instructions so that students and staff know what to do in case of a real emergency. This is never done in a scary way, but an informative/teaching way.
This month we have a Lockdown Drill. This type of emergency would be used in a situation when it is not safe for students to be out of the building. Students are instructed to listen to their teacher for places to hide in the classroom and stay quiet. Lights are turned out and doors are locked. Again, this is done in a calm manner, as a learning opportunity.
Lockdown Drills are held four times throughout the year. Please contact Mrs. Ybarra if you have any questions.
If your child must be gone from school for 3 days or more, please contact the office at least two weeks in advance so that we can prepare a work contract so that the absences do not count against your child as personal absences. Per the contract, your child will need to return the work on they day they return & cannot be late, per the California legal requirement.
