World War One

In World War 1, the two sides were the Allies, which made up of 27 states including France, Britain, Russia, Italy , the United States, Romania, Greece, Serbia and Japan, fought against the Central Powers including Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria.

How did WWI end?

Germany had formally surrendered on November 11, 1918, and all nations had agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were negotiated. On June 28, 1919, Germany and the Allied Nations (including Britain, France, Italy and Russia) signed the Treaty of Versailles, formally ending the war.

Mostly World War II, but FDR created some jobs.

What caused the Dust Bowl and how did it affect farmers in Texas?

Great Depression there was barely any water, so when the winds would come they would pick up the loose dust/dirt. The storm would get stronger and bigger the farther it went. The farmers did not like this because the dust storm would pick up their crops, out of the ground and carry them far off into the distance.

How were tenant farmers and miners affected by the Great Depression?

World War II

World War 2 was fought between two groups of countries. On one side were the Axis Powers, including Germany, Italy and Japan. On the other side were the Allies. They included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America

Time line

1930- Dictators in Germany and Italy and military leaders in Japan began wars of expansions.

1939- Britain and france declared war on Germany, World War II began in Europe. The War had begun

1940- Debate started about whether the U.S. would go into the war or not.

1941- Debate ended, when Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, The U.S. was now involved in World War II

1945- Wars end


How did Texas contribute to the nation’s military effort in fighting World War II?

Roosevelt made military equipment, so that the military would have weapons, weapons were needed to fight.
How did life changed for Texans on the home front during World War II?

They faced frostbite, death and defeat.
How did WWII end?

World War 2 ended with the unconditional surrender of the Axis powers.
