A Note from the Principal
This week was assistant principals week, and I want to take the time to thank Dr. Vogt and Mr. Hazelton for their tenacity, patience, and resilience throughout this very tough school year. They have done a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes to support students and staff, and I am just so grateful for them. If you get a moment, please send them a quick email or give them a call to thank them for being amazing assistant principals!
THANK YOU DR. VOGT AND MR. HAZELTON!

Sustainability Class at Hixson!
It is not too late to enroll in Hixson's new Sustainability class for next year! This is an exciting opportunity for our students to explore how to make our world a better place by taking care of our environment and taking care of each other. Students enrolled in this class will help create our community garden, learn how to grow fruits and vegetables, take care of the garden, and be empowered to design creative solutions to complex problems such as food deserts and food insecurity in our community. This is a chance to engage our students in real world, hands on learning experiences.
If you would like to sign your student up for this course, please contact your student's grade level counselor and admin team using the information below. This course is for rising 7th and 8th graders and can be taken for a semester or full year.

Meet & Eat - Statesmen Do Lunch!
Hello Virtual Junior Statesmen!
The Hixson counselors would like to invite each of you to “Meet & Eat” with us on Zoom during your lunch period every Wednesday. Our purpose is to support you in any way you may need while giving you time to socialize and play games with your peers that are also virtual.
“Meet & Eat” is held during all lunches each Wednesday. Feel free to join with snacks or a meal for lunchtime. You do not need to commit to joining every week ⸺ just hop on whenever you can and we would love to hang out with you!
Please indicate your interest in participating by submitting this form to us. Parents, if you are filling out this form for your child, please respond to the questions as if you were your child. We will send you the “Meet & Eat” Zoom link after you sign up, so look for an email from us!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Del’Brica Flowers (flowers.delbrica@wgmail.org) or Christy Keating (keating.christy@wgmail.org).
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Your Hixson Counselors

Please email your pictures to hill.brian2@wgcloud.org by April 16th. To help with organizing all of these pictures, please:
Make sure your pictures are .png or .jpg files.
Name these files as:
