Working Remotely
During this unique time of school closure, the Technology & Media Services department (TMS) has been working hard to get many of you set up to be able to work from home. We all need to continue to connect and collaborate. There are many technology tools available to help us continue to serve students, parents, colleagues, and even assist with data the state needs right now. In this edition of our newsletter we will highlight some tools you may already be using and maybe share some new ones you will find useful!
Collaboration At Its BEST!
Many areas in the organization have already started using Microsoft Teams as a collaborative communication tool. Microsoft Teams is integrated with Office 365, so your log in is the same as your email. Using your computer or a mobile device, it is easy to connect groups with video, audio, and screen sharing. You can chat with others individually or in groups (like texting), or instantly connect with other members of your team via a video chat. If you just need a quick phone call, it can do that too! You can set up team channels to align with groups of people who work on projects together. When you schedule a meeting in Outlook, you can select "Teams meeting" and the link to connect in Teams will be right in your meeting notice. Microsoft Teams helps your team stay organized and have conversations — all in one place!

Educator Resources
You have probably already seen the awesome weekly K-8 grade level packets that are being produced by GISD Education & Learning (E&L). They are being made available in a variety of ways, and they are also included on the GISD Resources site. This site is a collaborative effort between E&L and TMS to consolidate some of the many web resources currently available for educators. New resources and links are regularly being added, so check back often for updates!
