“But who do you say that I am?”
-Jesus Christ
Jesus as Our Model
I say that Jesus is not only our Savior but our model and the Light of the World; he is the base of our faith and gives us hope for new life with God in heaven one day. God gave the world his one and only Son as a visual for all to see and believe. He sent his only Son so that we might be graced with his love and care to carry out the mission of being living church with all of those around us. Jesus is our model that we must follow in order to correctly and lovingly carry out God's wishes.
Footnotes & Cross-References Reflection
I found it interesting that the Greek meaning for Peter was "rock". I was also not aware that the "gates of Hades" meant "the realm of the dead".
I say that You are Loving
This is to show how Jesus relates to everyone in our world - even children. He wants us to learn at a young age, if possible, that he will nurture and love them and that he will show them how tool and be loved.
I say that You are Pure
This is one of the more common pictures of Jesus portraying his Blood and Water when it poured from his side after his crucifixion. This is a symbol to help us remember his pure and gentle nature of being God's one and only Son.
I say that You are Gentle
This is beautiful because it shows Jesus and his gentle side. He wants to calm us and be there for us to come back to him when we fail and sin. He will always be there for us to come back and reconcile with him and turn back to him.
Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet
This bible passage speaks Jesus as a model. Jesus washes his disciples' feet as an example to show them that they should wash each other's feet; "Do unto others as I have done for you". Jesus states, "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them," (John 13. lines 15-17). New Testament.
Moses and the Burning Bush
One day, while watching Moses is watching over his sheep, God appears to him in the form of a burning bush, telling him that he must lead the Israelites out of Egypt. God reveals himself to Moses as "the God of your ancestors." God gives Moses three miracles to use when the Pharaoh does not allow him to take the people. Moses pack sup his family and possessions and goes to Egypt; Aaron, Moses's brother, is there and speaks for Moses to convince the people while Moses shows his miracles and the people want them to be their leaders. Moses questions God a few times and God reveals his true name to Moses - Yahweh. There are many stages before the Pharaoh finally says that Moses may take the people. Eventually, they make it out and Moses continues to lead the Israelites to their freedom as the story goes on.
Moses steps up to be a leader and is a model of Jesus. He not only continues to try to save God's people, even when the situation didn't look so good, but he puts all of his trust in God, just like Jesus did. Moses followed God's plan and successfully saved and freed God's people. We need to be like Moses and Jesus and put our trust in God and trust that the future will be bright.

Wear Sunscreen
In this song, Jesus shines through the words. He is speaking through the narrator in the beginning and the singer towards the middle and end of the song. "Wear Sunscreen" is one of my mom's favorite songs because all it does is encourage you and pull you up, not put you down. It tells you some pointers for life with the main one being, wear sunscreen. Jesus always wants the best for us and to go through only good times, but we have to go through bad times in order to have the good times. So next time I go through something bad, I'll listen to this song and pray to Jesus.

siblings
I see God in siblings; I have two younger siblings and whenever we all get along, I see God and his love. When all of us reach a state of peace and genuine love for each other and the want and need to protect each other is when I see God. I feel like that is the way we must treat each other and our neighbors, with complete and genuine love.
